The VR/AR Association Announces the Manufacturing Enablement Committee

We are pleased to announce the appointments of Damon Shackelford and Gene Feldman as co-chairs of the newly formed VRARA Manufacturing Enablement Committee.

The Manufacturing Enablement committee will focus on the challenges as well as benefits associated with the use of XR in the area of manufacturing, construction, maintenance and operations.  This committee will provide a forum for exploration, learning and also exploration of business and networking opportunities.

“We have reached the Tipping Point for XR adoption in the enterprise domain across the board and end users are now actively looking for technologies and suppliers that can help them and there are many solutions providers who are our members that are looking to learn how they can better support the end users.  We are pleased that Damon and Gene have offered to develop a community within the VRARA that will focus on the specific needs of the manufacturing industry.  This will provide additional value for our existing members and opportunities to bring in new members” says John Cunningham, COO of the VRARA.

"Over the past couple of years, we have seen an increase in interest from the manufacturing world in the capabilities of XR as a result of new technology, such as AI, and safety enhancements. As a result, we are seeing an inflection point where new technologies can enable the modern-day manufacturing workforce with the potential for great success. To assist with this, the VRARA Manufacturing Enablement Committee is being put into place to share solutions and ideas in a non-competitive space from which we can learn from each other to push manufacturing to new heights” add Gene Feldman, Co-Chair of the Committee.
