The VRARA is excited to announce that Andy Smith has been appointed to the Board of Advisors of the VR/AR Association (VRARA) Central Florida Chapter.
Andy has worked with the simulation and training industry for almost 40 years, promoting better training, best practices and the simulation industry, through trade events and business to business publishing. He is the founder and CEO of Halldale media and lives in Orlando.
He is the only media leader to be entirely focused on Simulation and Training for that period of time and also the only one to be constantly involved with more than one application. His company, Halldale publishes S&T specific publications for Defence - MS&T, Airline - CAT and other Safety Critical Industries - SCT, and owns the most visited website for the sector. Halldale also runs the leading events for the global airline training community, WATS, EATS and APATS, in the US, Europe and Asia.
“I am excited to join the VRARA Central Florida chapter advisory board at a time when XR technology is becoming more widely adopted as a component of simulation and training solutions and where Central Florida plays such an important role in the global industry. The association plays an important role in connecting long standing S&T organizations both on the civil and defense side with startup companies and existing technology companies that are new to this segment to help accelerate the industry” says Andy Smith.
John Cunningham, President of the VRARA Central Florida Chapter adds “Andy is the most recognized media leader in the simulation and training industry for over 40 years and is one of the early advocates of XR technology and a big supporter of the VRARA, so it is natural that he would be interested to help the association as a board advisor to help us figure out how to bring more value to our community and the industry.
