Though the discussions around VR and AR often involve the consumer-facing experience and technology, content creation will be an important part of the equation.
In other words, to avoid a "chicken & egg" adoption dilemma with VR and AR, there has to be enough content to attract users en masse. That translates to games, movies and other content in VR; and geotagged content for local discovery within AR.
One of the companies that will be central to the content creation discussion is GoPro. The company is working on lots of ways to lower the barriers to shoot and capture VR content. This can most recently be seen in some of its 360 video capture rigs.
This is why we're excited to announce that GoPro's Mehrshad Mansouri will be joining us on stage at Thursday's VR/AR association chapter launch. Mansouri heads up major VR partnerships at GoPro and will tell us all about the company's VR strategies and ambitions.
Hope to see you there.
