Matthieu Lorrain is an executive creative director specializing in interactive storytelling & future product development.

He is currently the Head of Creative & Content Strategy for Google AR Partnerships. He is also the co-founder of Fake Artists, a creative collective exploring the future of post-reality experiences.

Matthieu Lorrain has a long history working with global brands and tech companies to pioneer new types of fan engagement. He has been exploring creative applications of emerging technologies for the last 15 years: ranging from interactive video to voice-based applications, augmented reality, and AI art. His most recent work focuses on how Virtual Experiences & Immersive Storytelling can supercharge the fan experience. His projects have received multiple accolades from global corporations and organizations including Cannes Lions, Clios, Webby’s, ‘#1 Product Hunt of the Day’ and FWA.

Born & raised in the French Alps, Matthieu lived in Paris, Rio de Janeiro and Montreal before moving to New York City in 2011. He holds a Master’s degree in Cultural Studies from Institut d’Etudes Politiques and another in Marketing & Communication from ESCP-EAP Paris Business School.

Presentation on How BBC News used real-time AR in its US election coverage (VRARA Storytelling Online Meet)

It was a wild ride, but BBC World News kept its viewers informed about the US election results in real-time. BBC used a cloud-based AR solution to help them display dynamic data and broadcast-quality AR graphics live, using just a camera, a laptop, and an internet connection.

Lauren Ruffin is Albuquerque-based co-founder of Crux, the first platform focused solely on amplifying narrative VR content from Black creators. She is also co-CEO of Fractured Atlas, an independent group that empowers artists and organizations to overcome barriers.

Lauren Ruffin is a thinker, designer, & leader interested in building strong, sustainable, anti-racist systems & organizations. She's into exploring how we can leverage new technologies to combat racial and economic injustice. Lauren is a co-founder of Crux, an Albuquerque-based immersive storytelling cooperative that collaborates with Black artists as they create content in virtual reality and augmented reality (XR).  She also serves as co-CEO of  Fractured Atlas, the largest association of independent artists in the United States. In 2017, she started Artist Campaign School, a new educational program that has trained 74 artists to run for political office to date. She has served on the governing board of Black Girls Code and Main Street Phoenix Cooperative, and on the advisory boards of ArtUp and Black Girl Ventures. She graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a degree in Political Science and obtained a J.D. from the Howard University School of Law.
