The VR/AR Association in partnership with the University of Miami Institute for Data Science and Computing will host the Miami Chapter Launch event on February 17th from 5:30 - 8:30 pm at the Cosford Cinema on the University of Miami Campus. This will be a hybrid in-person and virtual event (for those that want to attend remotely).
The theme of the event is The Intersection of AI and the Metaverse and our speakers will provide presentations and will host discussions with the audience on related topics. There will also be a technology showcase where many of the technologies will be showcased.
Our speakers/panelist for the evening will be:
Amy Peck - CEO Endeavor VR - Amy is one of the leading global experts in the XR industry and works with numerous fortune 500 and emerging technology companies and she is a highly sought after global speaker. Amy will discuss emerging trends in the industry, help to demystify the Metaverse and the role that XR will play.
Lisa Watts - VP Product Marketing & Planning at Magic Leap - The entire industry is anxoulsy awaiting the availability of the Magic Leap 2. Lisa will talk about MagicLeap's vision and plans for the future.
Dr. Miguel Alonso - Engineering Manager for the Behavior Authoring Team at Unity. Miguel is a researacher and technologist that is part of the group that develops Unity's AI and Machine Learning products. Miguel will share insights into the technology and the implications for Digital Twins and the Metaverse.
Kim Grinfeder - Chair of Interactive Studies, University of Miami Institute for Data Science and Computing. Kim and his colleagues will share the current programs and key research being conducted at the University and insights to Metaverse trends they are seeing.
John Cunningham - Head of Government and Aerospace at Unity. John leads Unity's Government and Aerospace business vertical for the Americas and is the President of the VRARA Central Florida Chapter. John is going to present use cases and trends in the area of digitial twins and artificial intelligence.
Tarja Stephens - Metaverse Creative Strategist and President of the VRARA Miami Chapter. The Creator Frontier is working on the future of collective creativity, connection, and social impact in the Metaverse. Tarja will share her work and the plans for the VRARA in Miami.
