We welcome you to the Greek Chapter of the VR/AR Association. 

As innovation and digital transformation drives business success, we invite institutions and entities, public and private, to join our association for elevating their knowledge and networking capabilities local and global. 

VR and AR technologies are changing our world in multiple ways and we believe  that collaborations and spreading the knowledge will help us all reach our highest potentials. 

Our goals are to connect the local and global community through our initiatives of organizing and holding local events, inspire talent to work in the industry and explain to the business and consumer market the huge potential that lies before us with Extended Reality technologies.

Greece has a dynamic increase of tech creative and innovative companies over the last years in the verticals of Advertising, Education & Training, Enterprise, Healthcare, Safety & Security,  Sports & Fitness and Storytelling with the fact that Immersive technologies have become a priority for companies, organizations and the government, creates great value of developing such a community of all things VR/AR/MR.

Chapter President Tom Kolokithas greece@thevrara.com

Tom Kolokithas is a Greek-American, born in 1980 in New York and raised in Athens. Early professional days found him in the marketing industry but soon enough, he started his entrepreneurial path. A path which continues to today with companies in the marketing and technology industries.

Founder of DTMH. Since 2015 he has actively contributed as a solution architect in more that 50 projects in the Greek XR market. Proud dog father with main interests, tough leadership, formula-1 and a dream to become a grandfather. Greece has a dynamic increase of tech creative and innovative companies over the last years. Our goals are to connect the local and global community through our initiatives of organising and holding local events, inspire talent to work in the industry and explain to the business and consumer market the huge potential that lies before us with Extended Reality technologies.

Events chair - Stathis Moustakis

Stathis Moustakis was born and raised in Athens in 1975. Stathis is CTO of PowerX.tech, the person behind the “Tech lab” and an active developer or co-developer of interactive apps. He likes to learn new things, keep up with technology evolution and evolve. Has a degree from University of Athens in Sports Science and Physical Education and has more than 20 years experience in event production, technical management, technology projects and development.

Membership chair - Ioannis Exarchos

Ioannis Exarchos is the founder of VR Productions and he is an experienced XR 360 Professional who is passionate about innovation and digital transformation through cutting edge technologies like VR / AR / XR. Prior to the founding of VR Productions, worked in the IT and Consulting industry and was involved in many innovative projects and startups. Ioannis holds an MBA degree from University of Piraeus and a Bachelor of Sciences in Computer Engineering from Central Greece University. 

Marketing chair - George Damdimopoulos

Producer of experiential activations and events, creator of content for traditional and immersive media, strategic consultant of companies and executives on cultural and digital transformation, with 25 years of experience in international scale. Demonstrated ability to gain control over new markets and proven record of success in heightening brand visibility, engagement, image enhancement, and sales for multimillion-euro corporations. 

He started at 1997 as a production manager and director for multimedia projects. The successful candidacy of Athens 2004 Olympic Games set a milestone at his career, and today he is recognized for his creativity, meticulous planning and execution of innovative communication and marketing projects. From conception to implementation, he handles budgets above seven figures. In 2016 he founded Spectacle Agency, a company activated in the field of marketing in the digital era, focusing on the understanding, demystification, commercial and creative use of immersive technologies, for the benefit of business and society.  

Communications chair - Alexia Kyriakopoulos

Alexia Kyriakopoulos, CEO of Wonder Immersive, is an award-winning creative technologist and Producer. She holds an MPS in Interactive Technology and a BS in Marketing Communications and Psychology. After graduating with honors from Emerson College in Boston, she worked for FOX Digital Studios where she was assisting the V.P of Branded Entertainment.

During graduate school at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, she developed a passion for storytelling through new media and has since focused on creating VR and AR experiences. Her first VR film “Normal Day”, an interactive VR documentary based on the life of a breast cancer patient, has received several distinctions in film festivals around the world such as Filmgate, Cult Critic Movie Award, Global Film Festival as well as a Faculty Commendation for VR Filmmaking from NYU.

In 2018 Alexia started working at ARVORE as a Creative Producer for a VR immersive experience called “The Line” which won an Emmy award in 2020 for “Outstanding Innovation in Interactive Media” as well as “Best VR Experience” at Venice Film Festival in 2019.
